A soft spot for hampers

Baxters of Scotland invited me to their launch event to announce their luxury gift hampers that are coming out soon.

Baxters might be the most famous for its soup that seems to be a cupboard staple for many homes in Scotland. Now they have also launched Baxters of Scotland and teamed up with various suppliers to offer gift hampers. Most of the brands featured in the hampers are Scottish and I just love exploring local produce and crafts which is why I also have a soft spot for hampers.

During the evening we got an introduction to the brand by the Baxters of Scotland team but also got to hear from some of the suppliers, including Clootie McToot, Highland Chocolatier, Kinalba and The Wee Scottish Cider Company. And of course try some of the food and drink offerings.

The Seidear from The Wee Scottish Cider Company has a really interesting story and Christian, the founder, told us all about his fascinating business where he uses Scottish apples and bottle ferments his cider using Méthode Champenoise. Another new-to-me sweet treat was the clootie dumplings from Clootie McToot which were thoroughly delicious. I tried the one with Lindores Aquavitae which tasted like the best part of cookie dough. I will definitely have to buy a Clootie McToot kit to try and make it myself at home some day!
